Is it normal for a 15 y/o girl to not have interest in doing her hair, make up, girl clothes? Looking neat and pretty?
I remember when I was that age, I did and so did all of my friends. Even the "jocks" did. Maybe not every day, but at least for special events and stuff.
To my knowlege there are no sexuality issues.
I am not saying this is bad, I just don't know what some of the reasons could be.
Has anyone else had experience with this? Any different reasons that could play a part?

Thnx Smarter...I am totally not opposed to it. I just don't understand it.
I was ransacking my mom's lipstick when I was 3.
I'm just afraid someone might be putting her down, so therefor she doesn't even try. Or she may have a fear of looking attractive to the opposite sex.
BTW...there are possible reasons why I stated what I just have.

Good answers. I'm more afraid of the possibility of other issues.
But from the answers, it seems like it's quite normal and I shouldn't worry.

My neighbor has been concerned about her daughter, that's why I'm asking. I told her I would do this and let her know.

I am around that age and I don't have interest in make-up and looking neat and pretty as you said. I mean when I go out to fancy places, I will put on some coverup and straighten my hair. But I won't wear makeup to school or wear nice clothes, just sweats and a band tee. I will basically just roll out of bed and go to school. I feel that I should not need to change how I look naturally just for attention. So yes, I would say that this is normal. If this is what you mean by sexuality issues, I like guys and I like being a girl. Hope this helps.

By the time I was 12 I was interested in makeup. Some of my other friends didn't care about it at all until they were like 16 or 17. That's normal.

It's perfectly normal, and why would she need reasons NOT to put make-up on her face. I mean what's the reason you DO wear make-up?
I'm now 26 years old and the only make-up I've ever used was a cover-stick and some powder to cover up my acne scars and that was after my 19th birthday.
Before then, I just never cared. My skin couldn't handle it anyways and I just didnt see the point of painting my face, making it look different from who I am. I still don't.
Some people go this way, some people go that.... And no one needs any -reasons- to make the choices they make.

A fifteen-year-old girl should take pride in her appearance. This doesn't mean she should start using makeup (way overrated!), or fuss with styling her hair (a natural look is nice and less damaging to hair), or become a teenage fashionista (insanity!). What it does mean is she should take care of herself and her appearance, such as keeping her body, teeth, and hair clean, brushing and combing her hair, and wearing clean clothes which fit her comfortably and properly. She should not look like she hasn't bathed or groomed, and her clothes should not look like she's slept in them all week long. When a teenage girl takes pride in the basics, she takes pride in herself, and self-respect is an important part of becoming a beautiful, young woman.

I agree, yet law enforcement officials continually get away with stuff like that. I won't carry out too plenty wish for something by way of the way of justice. i understand maximum law enforcement officials at the instant are not undesirable, yet some do tend to abuse their potential. this is starting to be to be much greater primary, regrettably.

I'd say it's weird. I never wore makeup or did anything with my hair aside from spike it with gel and highlight it in 11th grade. My mother and school forced me to wear makeup in 9th grade and I'd wipe everything off of my face before I got on the school bus for home because I hated wearing "girly stuff".

Nothing wrong with that if the person isn't interested in makeup and looking pretty. Maybe she just doesn't want to be like everyone else so does her own thing.

im a 16 year old girl and i never wear any make up. last time i wore make up was on thanksgiving. i wore a little eye liner. i dont like doing my hair but i dont like when it looks bad so i do spend a good amount of time on my hair in the morning. i like feeling pretty so i do care about those other things you have listed but its ok to not care for make up. as long as you have good hygiene you dont really have to.

Leave her be. It is perfectly normal for her to have sense enough to realize that the face God gave her is good enough that she doesn't have to cover it up with chemical-laden creams and powders.
My 15 year old daughter doesn't wear make-up, either - HER decision - because she thinks the girls who DO wear it look like little girls playing in mommy's things.

The truth is, I don't wear make - up.
I don't straighten or curl my hair.
And, I don't like to wear jewelery.
Same goes for special occasions :P
Because, It all seems like a waste of time.
Like, why pretty yourself up when its the inside that counts?
