The BNP definitely seem endangered at the moment (except on Yahoo Answers it seems), due to their current financial crisis and losing a number of their most influential members.
They also remain very dangerous, however.
This is a party who want to lift the ban on private ownership of hand guns; who would hold entire families responsible for the crimes of individuals; who would restrict the right to vote to those who complete compulsory national service in the armed forces; and who want to bring back the death penalty and public floggings. As far as their extremist authoritarian policies are concerned that's just the tip of the iceberg.
In addition they are extremely isolationist, and would not only pull Britain out of the EU, but also out of NATO and end our special relationship with the USA - which they call "Britain's spineless subservience". Under the BNP the UK would become a pariah state like North Korea or Burma.
And I haven't even mentioned their racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic attitudes, their disgraceful plans for the disabled, or their patronising attitudes towards women.
The most dangerous thing about the BNP is that they try to draw people in through rhetoric on immigration and Islamic extremism, while doing their best to draw as little attention as possible to their authoritarianism and their true agenda of hatred. The fact is, that the BNP actually have little interest in finding genuine solutions for issues such as immigration, and are only interested in them as a way gaining ill-informed support for their true Fascist agenda.
Freedom of speech should never be curtailed, even for the likes of the BNP. All decent, fair minded individuals who oppose them, however, should never stop exposing them for what they really are.
The BNP always claim their right to freedom of speech, but in my experience they very seldom respect freedom of speech for their opponents or anybody else who disagrees with them.
The BNP like to use the name and image of Enoch Powell as a rallying point these days, but Powell was an anti-death penalty campaigner and a social liberal who would never have any truck with a party who hold such extremist authoritarian views. I think he summed up parties like the BNP very well when he described them as "an extremist threat to the British way of life".
As for what list they should be on - they should most certainly be on a list of threats to freedom and democracy.

If our democracy is so fragile it cannot deal with a group like the BNP without resorting to undemocratic means then the entire political system probably deserves to go under.
The ideology of the BNP is repugnant and potentially dangerous, but even Churchill, at the height of the danger to Britain during WW2, was reluctant to use non-democratic methods. Habeas Corpus was suspended for a while, which allowed the internment of the likes of Oswald Mosley and company.
It may be a truism, but the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Democracy itself cannot be sustained by adopting the methods of those who would threaten it. Democracy is already under threat in the UK under the guise of fighting the war on terror.
As for lists: British employers already have access to blacklists of left wing and trade union activists seen as a threat to the "British way of life". A similar list probably exists at Special Branch for the far right.

How can white people be endangered when we outnumber everyone else 10 to 1.
You can't call an organisation a species. Political parties rise and fall.

No they shouldn't they may have a few questionable followers but what party doesn't.
You cant even compare them to the Labour party invading a Sovereign nation illegally (IRAQ) having a hand in the execution of it's President and the killing of thousands innocent women and children in the process. The BNP has never committed anything like this.
Tank my friend, your talking about one person, even Labour and the conservatives have the lunatic elements following them. Political parties should be looked at on a more broader spectrum not just the odd idiot out trying to blow people up.
I dont follow the BNP but i can see the bigger picture.

No one declares them anything, they have chosen to become a minor political party and therefore they have to learn to sink or swim by the strength or weakness of their own arguments, and either gain support, fail to gain support, or deal with their opposition in the wider political arena like everyone else.

No - I am more worried about the nutters that scream for everything to be banned. If the BNP is what we deserve, the BNP is what we will get. I certainly am sick to the back teeth of people who ban things - they are dangerous.

They've got some good ideas on immigration and asylum seekers which is why many people are drawn towards them as this ineffectual government does not seem to know what it's doing. It's a shame that they have some rather extreme policies though, it tends to put people off.
I think UKIP have more of a chance.

As others have said, the party membership is decreasing sharply. However their members will deny this.
I think both categories apply - but quite honestly, who cares if they destroy themselves?
