Don't under any circumstances massage a cat without the expressed consent of the cat in question! Failure to get this permission can lead to violent actions of self defence on the part of the feline. BE CAREFUL!

You can visit a well-stocked music store and find CDs of Civil War music. They aren't terribly expensive. Of course much music of the era was intended to cement images of hearth and home and to encourage young men to "defend the fatherland" - oops, sorry: different war };^)
Yes, patriotic fervor was heightened by certain music of the era.
As for massaging your cat - if she scratches the crap out of you, it's only because you deserve it: quit abusing her and she'll purr for ya.
