I to have pcos, I have been ttc#1 for 4 years, I went threw the storm and threw the rain and today I am still trying to get to the end of the tunnel, I have not yet gotten pregnant but I am gaining hope sure as much looseing hope, Yes all pcos is different some have it better then others, I am 19 years old and my pcos is real difficult to deal with, I was thinking like wel I'm young so the pills would work in know time, but unfortunately I foul myself, I did clomid (4 cycle) and didn't ovulate, I am on metformin for 3 months and ovulated once now what work haven't work for me might just work for you, just start it out by going to the gyno and getting your symptoms treated, he'll start you of with metformin then work you up to taking a combo (metformin and clomid), I am waitnfor a next cycle now so I can start the combo.
Not everyone who have pcos can work out and in a month time be pregnant but its good to start working out and eating healthy, I am not overweight I am 5'' 127lbs but I have a fetish for candy which is real bad for your pcos.
Like the first lady said, don't use the clomid pill but you can save them in case your dr perscribe you to them, make sure its the right dose and remember there is hope for us.
Baby dust to you

Never take another persons pills, if you want pills go to the doc. There are a lot of options you can try when ttc with pcos. Clomid is a good option but you really need to talk to your doctor. I have had pcos since I was 16 and have not had any luck with ttc w/o meds.

I have the same thing. I've been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months and I just started on the pills this month. I wasn't having my period because of the pcos. So the doctor put me on provera to start my period and then clomid to make me ovulate. He says I should be pregnant within 3 months and if it doesn't work I can try the shots. He says they don't normally let you start the pills until you've been trying for a year but he could tell I was really anxious about it. My son is almost 2 and I want to have another one before he gets too old. If I were you I wouldn't do anything until you talk to your doctor. But definately hold on to the clomid because insurance won't cover it and it's kind of expensive. Good Luck!

you will be glad to know, as always, that many women have PCOS and it affects all of them differently. I have PCOS and have known about it for 3years now. There are ways and means of treating it pending on how much it affects you.
I fell pregnant without trying... we thought we couldnt get pregnant because of the PCOS so stopped using protection then... the rest is history.
Some women with PCOS find it harder to concieve but it doesnt mean that you never will.
DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS PERMISSION. Tablets, drugs and treatments are given to those that the doctor feels is necessary if your doctor hasnt given you anything then you do not need it (yet). Mention to your Doctor that your friend has this medicine and find out what they say and why you havent been prescribed it.

I have had pcos since I was 16 years old. I got married at 18 and didn't conceive until last summer when I was 26. I had a miscarriage and it took me a year of charting and praying to get pregnant again. I am now 22 weeks pregnant. Get books on fertility and learn how to chart bbt. So you can be sure whether you are ovulating or not. You should never take medication without your dr prescribing it but certainly hold on to them for the moment (be careful because it is illegal to have someone else's prescription) they are expensive.
I choose not to use medication to speed the process along but some women don't have a choice. Talk to your dr to pick the best course of action and bring in your cycle charts to support your need for medical intervention.

My friend of 17 yrs had pcos too. I have stood by her side the whole time. She did the fertility pills on 2 different occasions with no luck.
With pcos, the cysts burst on their own. Although you keep developing new ones, they do burst. She says at certain times that she can feel the sensitivity of her ovaries. She does not ovulate often so her periods are sporadic. She will go through the sensitive motions of being pregnant, but in fact will not be.
I keep telling her to go to the health food store to get some natural advise, but she insists on the Doc (with no success).
Good luck to you my dear. This is the only info based on what I have witnessed myself. Do some research yourself and maybe you can tell us what works for you in the future!

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago. My dr. put me on Metformin and Prometrium. However, I took myself off of the medicine about 4 months ago and I took a pregnancy test on Monday and it was positive. I go to the dr. tomorrow so I am hoping for the best. My husband and I have been TTC for about 4 1/2 years. Talk to your dr. about the steps you want to take in order to get pregnant.. and NOOOOOO!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR FRIENDS CLOMID!!! There are different levels of clomid and your doctor will have to give you whats right for you. Best of luck to you!!!

It was thought that I had p.c.o.s. because of my irregular period. This past summer I started working out for 30 minutes a day and eating better. I lost about 15 lbs and my period came right on track. I had been ttc for about a year as well and in July I concieved but then misscarried. But, I am now 11 weeks pregnant and everything is going fine. Before you start taking drugs to conceive just try working out and eating better. It worked for me and many other people!

heck no you shouldn't take those without your doc's permission! I have pcos and so does my aunt and my mom. Go to the doctor's for it and they will help get your periods regular and you will be able to have kids. I'm 8wks pregnant right now. But if you don't go in right away to get it checked out it could be too late someday and your ovaries would have shut down and you won't be able to have kids, like my aunt.
