Who is willing to try?

Ron L possed a question. "Why can't we all just get along" Well Here's another... WHO's willing to try? I AM. ARE YOU? and what will you do to try to get along with other people in your community? Black or White, Red or Yellow. Gay or straight.?

Part 1 to all getting along is dismissing labels and being colour blind.
Can that be done? I try on a daily basis.....for my own peace of mind.
Please keep "willing"....I truly wish more people would at least "open" themselves to a piece of that concept

i would be willing. i would love to feel that i am making a difference. i try so many things, when my friends argue i sort it out, i make them talk so that we can stay in the same room happily. i know that is NOTHING like saving the world, but its something.
i have joined the "global action" group at my college to try to help the world in general and i get so frustrated because all we are doing is TALKING about it at the moment. later we will go and do things, help raise awareness of AIDS, fight for fair trade, etc. i WANT to do something, but i dont know what i can do on my own. as one person i seem to be ignored. my family isnt rich and i get stage fright! there seems to be no way that i can do much

Although we can all do better, I think we're moving in the right direction. And I think most people really do want to get along. The big issue is that we don't understand each other as well as we think we do.

No I am not willing to try and make peace with some one who is closed minded and wants me dead if they had the chance. Be real, humans will always look out for their self interest. We will do every thing in our power so that we have the most for ourself.

Edit: I didn't say every one was out to get me. But you asked if I would be willing to make peace with every one, and I said no I will not be if some one was after me to kill me.

BTW the human history is riddled with people working for their self interest. Why do you think we have had all those wars in the first place. Every war ever fought was in someone's self interest. That's why all of us can not get along. Isn't your own safety and peace the reason why you are proposing that we get along? So that you don't get hurt, so that you live in a peaceful environment. Agree with me or not, we are all working for our own self interest.

i'l try, but im always scared of putting the wrong think in one of these messages cuz they can be taken the wrong way! i get thumbs down for things when im not even having a go. im always willing to try. the way i look at it is, no matter what colour we are, what shape our eyes are, what ever..
we all have the same colour of blood, and the same organs in our body, basically meaning, we are all the same.

there should be no arguments or wars, no matter what!
