I just bought a brand new chrysler 300 touring 07 on Nov. 27th. It doesn't start when the weather is cold. So the car is in the shop since last Sat. The service guys can't figure out what's going on with it. I am so frustrated. I am making the payment of a brand new chrysler and driving a cheap rental. This is not the problem that frustrates me but the worry of such an unreliable car. And, anybody knows how to get hold of the executives of Chrysler? because when I call the 1-800 number, I get this receptionist who has no ethics and tells me she doesn't have any numbers for me? and i am not qualified for lemon law yet.

I think the car has to be in the shop 3 times in the first 6 months of ownership to qualify for the lemon law.

btw, I would have the computer swapped out on the car.

First of all, don't let the dip wads here give you the "Don't buy a Chrysler" hooey. One bad car doesn't make every car the company builds bad. And you know, probably 90% of the cars I see on the side of the road are NOT Chrysler products. So just ignore there ignorant remarks. First of all, I'm sure the dealership doesn't really want your car taking up shop space while they lose income from a rental car. And, cold morning problems are hard to trace down in a warm shop. But that doesn't mean they have the right people working on your car.

You say when it's cold, how cold? Frost in the morning but above freezing in the day? Or below freezing all day long? A Ford mechanic friend had a woman who's car that wouldn't start after a night of below freezing temps. Towed it into the shop and if started. Sent it home, same thing. Back in the shop, it started. Ends up the muffler was installed upside down, the drain hole was up instead of down and condensation couldn't drain out. The muffler was half full of water which would freeze solid overnight but thaw inside the shop. He turned the muffler over and that fixed it.

If the shop foreman is smart, he'll let someone else look at it because everyone sometimes gets tunnel vision. They may also be overlooking the simple things, thinking it's something like the computer (which it may very well be). Were it me, I'd take a can of compressed air or freon and chill the computer and other electrical components and see if that makes any difference. Like I said, a warm shop can hide the problem.

I'm sure not one to enjoy making waves, but if you're being really nice, stop being so. You don't have to be a horse's butt and have a hissy fit rolling around on the showroom floor, but just stand firm, tell them you appreciate them giving you a car to drive and putting mechanics on the job but you want your car back and be fixed. Tell them if they can't find and fix the problem, you want them to send it to a different dealer to be fixed (Chrysler will pay which ever dealer fixes it, it doesn't have to be the one you bought the car from.) If they balk, politely ask to see the owner or general manager and ask him for the phone number and name of the customer complaint representative at Chrysler, not their person, but the person at Detroit. Again, don't be wishy washy, don't cry, don't cuss, don't raise your voice, don't smile, just be cool, calm, firm and very deliberate. If you can't do this, ask your father, brother, priest or thug on the street corner to speak for you. Well maybe not the last two, but you get the idea. Good luck and I bet when it's all said and done, it's something very simple that's the problem. Sometimes the simplest causes are the hardest ones to find.

Ask the dealer for the phone number of the Lemon Law. This will get you a person from Chrysler to take car of you're problem.

Keep on Chrysler about it! Talk to anyone and everyone you can, most will not give you a lot of answers till you bother them a whole lot, unfortunately the 300 is not as luxurious as they make it out to be, I leased one put it this way I am glad I leased not bought it...

NO LEMON LAW JUST YET FOR YOUR VEHICLE BUT WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO DO TO GET A FIRE STARTED UNDER THEIR BUTTS IS TO GET THE NUMBER FOR THE AREA ZONE MANAGER.

ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT HIM OR HER AND BE VERY CALM BUT FIRM AND EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON AND THIS PERSON WILL TAKE CARE OF IT AND ALSO YOU MUST GET AND KEEP ALL OF THE WORK ORDERS FOR THIS VEHICLE.

Never EVER EVER EVER EVER buy a chrysler car.

That is whats wrong. Whenever I see a new car on the side of the road broke down, its usually one of those chryslers.

Stick with toyotas or hondas and you will never EVER EVER EVER EVER see the inside of a repair shop.

Good Luck, you're going to need it :)
