You know I am sad for the innocent people killed here, but my heart kind of breaks for this kid too.

Who created this "monster"? How can a child get so screwed up that a parent tosses them out into the street, only to be taken in by someone else's family?

I mean this kid, if he was so bad, why did a total stranger think he was worth saving? And take him into his house?

It's obvious that this kid was hurting big time. When he lost the only things he had left that gave him any self respect or any dignity or any hope.... this is what happens.

I am really angry at his parents. I don't even care to know what this kid did that made him so unloved. But the blame starts there.

If people are ill equipped to be parents, then maybe it's time this government started making parenting courses available to society. Every child deserves to be nurtured and loved, and this kid was in terrible pain to have committed such a heinous crime.

The parents have blood on their hands too

The problem is that people these days have too many "rights". People think it's their right to own a car and drive, hence some people drive recklessly and argue that they can't live without a car when caught. People think it's their right to have as many kids as they feel like, when they feel like, without regard for their personal situation.

That not only leads to sad instances like this, when a child is essentially treated like an unwanted pet, but means that society as a whole is expected to go out of their way to tolerate parents who just shouldn't be parents. I'm sure that all of us have experienced some horrible parenting and wondered how these people can raise a child, not only because of the damage done to the child, but the nuisance and disruption caused to other members of society, by people who believe it's their god-given right to have children and raise them however they wish.

You can't have rights without accepting responsibilities.

Why are we so quick to place the blame on others, in this case the parents? He was a grown man and knew what he was doing, regardless of his upbringing, he is the only one to blame. Many children have appalling upbringings but do not commit acts like this, why should it be any kind of excuse for him?

Well, he was an adult. A lot of people have it a lot worse than him and they manage not to spray malls with bullets.

But I agree, there should be some sort of a test people should have to pass before spawning.

For example, have you seen some of the questions in here?!
