I beat stress with physical activity...
Exercise can decrease ‘stress hormones' like cortisol, and increase endorphins, your body's ‘feel-good’ chemicals, giving your mood a natural boost. :)

Yoga class, Tuesday nights, 7:15! One hour, once a week is a minimum investment of time, but the effects from that class go on for days!
An easy yoga-related thing that I do outside of class, if something starts getting my heart pounding from stress, is a breathing exercise--and this really works. Focus for a second on your breathing. Take a deep, slow breath in and fill your lungs all the way to the bottom. Now slowly exhale completely and hold that for an unrushed count of one-mississippi, two-mississippi. Repeat. This exercise has an affect on your parasympathetic nervous system, which regulates your stress response. It WILL calm you down. I did this last night when I realized I was feeling anxious about something I didn't get done at work yesterday and that my heart was beating a little fast when I thought of it before bed time. It not only works, but if you are tuned into your heart rate at all, you will feel it start to work immediately.
I also don't let myself linger on issues that cause stress when just going over them in my head repeatedly; I put the thought into them for a solution, and then I discipline myself to put them aside and do something more productive until I can act on my solution. It took some work to be able to do that, but it's a great way to reduce stress. If it's something I can't resolve just then for some reason, I only give myself a 15 minute window to think about it, and then I tell myself to turn my attention elsewhere. Ruminating isn't healthy.
I like to cook, and getting involved in preparing something in the kitchen, serving it nicely, having a nice meal with family/friends is a great stress reliever for me. I supposse any engrossing activity that you enjoy is a great stress reliever in that sense.
Also, fortify your mind/body against stress with adequate sleep, a healthy diet and some moderate exercise.
Hope this helps!

Depending where and what time in it occurs....but you have free time...best is to have a 30 minutes physical exercise....and a 20 minutes...meditation...and when time permits...a classic instrumental music in a cozy room is totally relaxing....and if you can afford to have a 30 minutes nap...the best...followed with a good shower...back to normal life
If pressed up by work...a 3 minutes walk and body stressing and quiet yourself...a glass of cold water...magic..., alive and strong again....
Bye for now, I feel stressed....
