and if i can please tell me how bcuase my home basic vista computer has 512 ram and my xp has 1024 so i was wondering if i could take the ram out and switch id or "upgrade" to 1.5 gigs ram or 1gig ram

Maybe, maybe not - it depends on whether they use the same memory chips. The chips are different for different models of computers.

Use the website below to determine what kinds of chips are in each computer. If they match, great! If not - this is a good source to get a new chip. I've used them, and been very satisfied.

One warning, though - think hard about using an anti-static strap when you do this. Static can toast a memory chip, and then you'd have to buy another one even if they are compatable.

find out what the motherboards of each computer take for memory. If they both can handle the same memory then yes you can. I'm guessing the vista would likely take larger memory which means your better off buying a new stick that suits the board.

Yes most likely but it would have to same kind of ram meaning that older styles of ram may not work with newer motherboards.

Yes you can, but you have to make sure that the mother board is compatible with the RAM.

yes you can!
You must open the mobo an there are 2 or 4 slots and you take
the sticks out and put them into another PC!

the slot have two switches you must open them and than take the stick out!
It is very easy!
