All of my computers have Window XP SP2, and have remote access assistant on them. I want to be able to connect them to each other, but they all have the same IP! And if I want to connect from an outside computer, what IP do I enter in to reach a specific computer within my home? I know I can use places like logmein.com but some places with outside networks will block certain sites and that might be one.

You know that you cannot connect them up whilst they have the same IP address.

You will need to set up a private network; and depending on your modem, you could do a whole lot of things, including setting up ports specific to each internal IP address.

You would then enter your modem from the real world using it's IP address and the relevant port that you have configured for specific destination PC (oh, including whatever security you have placed on the ports).

The ONLY (only really good) way to connect to MULTIPLE computers with remote access is to have a VPN to your LOCAL system. Some routers have VPN ENDPOINTS which make this a snap.
Buffalo, if you can find one, had a router that included a "directory" once you connected to the VPN to show all machines - included a copy of VNC which allowed you to select the machine and connect and run it. All done within the router!
That model is the WZR-RSG54 if you can find one.. they are simple and easy to use. Here is CNETs info

I am sure that most VPN ENDPOINT routers may do similar things, just haven't used them.

I do know, that if you want to connect to multiple machines, you have no choice but to use a VPN connection!

You can put logmein, go to my PC, etc on one machine, connect remotely to that ONE machine, then let that machine connect to the others on the LAN - Cumbersome, poor slow results, but will work.

Good Luck. Merry Christmas and God Bless

Your public IP is the same for both computers, so when you use vnc you assign a different port for each one.
