Always on. Televisions have become very powerful and it is the glare and UV that can damage eyes quite fast. Remember to have at least one ambient light source and sit at least 6 ft. away from your your tv.

If I'm in the living room I like them on; if I'm watching TV in bed I like them off....it puts me to sleep.
