If Pacman had affected us as kids we'd be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Funny that....

My middle child is the game addict in our home and she is in 8th grade taking 9th grade classes. My oldest just dropped out and my youngest was struggling a bit. So, some one needs to explain what harm these games are causing, because I don't see the harm, I see the opposite. All my kids are girls if that matters.

True but Super Mario Brothers did make me eat a lot of magic mushrooms, mess about with pipe culture and infused me with an urge to smash turtles with my great big Italian butt. I also generally wear overalls, but I choose green as I am more of a Luigi Mario than a Mario Mario.

Actually video games make you smarter, quicker in hand agility and in RPGs I played, taught me some tough words, increased my vocabulary and got me in to reading. People that say video games have a negative affect are the most evil people in the world. They want to take away someone's pleasure, they are like people in the late 1800's afraid of comedy of vaudeville making people laugh or that evil woman Mary Whitehouse that made it her life's work to get Doctor Who and anything of a similar material canceled, including the brutal killing of the Omega Factor, or that evil man Fredrick Worthham's and his demonic manifesto Seduction of Innocents, encouraging parents to burn comic books. It is like any book burning or witchhunt really. It is the evil of the pc banning Tom & Jerry and Song of the South. It is the evil of blanding television out. It is the evil of book burning and banning. It is the evil of political correctness. It the the evil of hiding history, it is the evil of destroying art. You want to take away a source for joy or entertainment you do not like but you keep on playing bridge, or golf or tennis or soduko or crossword puzzles or watching survivor, big brother, dr phil, oprah or buying million dollar purses. It is evil, pure evil what those what blame things on gamers do.
