i am a day over due with my firdt baby and not sure if i had a show, when i went to the toilet the discharge was thick but clear, i though the show had a hint of brown or blood in it?

It could be the mucous plug because everyone is different. Also, it could be that you are getting ready to lose the mucous plug..typically the show does have a tinge of blood in it. When I was close to my due dates I remember seeing clear, thick discharge also but when I lost my muscous plug there was no doubt and keep in mind that some women never see the show..it just varies. Whatever it is, you are already a day late and just knowt that you are going to be holding that long awaited little baby in no time at all! Good luck and congratulations~

Hiya.
Normally the show is clear, thick and very sticky with streaks of blood in it, not much tho. If you are not in any pain, just hang in there. First labours can take ages. I really wouldn't worry unless you are in pain or you feel that your waters have gone. You normally have your show before labour starts.

Hi there,
Massive congrats, it sounds to me that your baby is on it's way!!
I have two children & with both my baby's my discharge was always clear & never had blood in it.
If i was you i would try see ur g.p or midwife a.s.a.p.
It always better to get these things checked out if your unsure.
Also if you cant get through to either of the above try nhs direct, im sure they could be of help to you.

are you having contractions? You will know if your water breaks. It will feel like a waterfall. However, if you have been having this.....leakage problem for a few days your water bag could be leaking and you should go to the hospital immediately so that you don't develop an infection.

Sounds like things are starting to happen....you can actually go 10 - 14 days past your due date so be patient.

Yes, there will be blood or at least a pink discharge.

could be what is called"your mucous plug".This always comes first then a brownish discharge later.also if you ever think you have wet your pants ;your water would have broken.Good luck with the baby.

this sounds gross, but when you loose your mucas plug, it looks like a lump of snot,,,,,it may have a red/pinky blood tinge to it,,,,,,,i would guess within the next 24 hours you'll go into labor, just from past experience with myself and my best friend,,,,,,all the very best!!!!!
