I do not like to have a military style sick call health program. This is what government health care systems are based on.

MrOrhp
You are a idiot.
Even a blind man can see that the biggest welfare recipient in the country is the UNITED STATES government.
The government produces nothing and is supported by everyone.
IF THE GOVERNMENT LEAD BY EXAMPLE NONE OF US WOULD WORK, INVEST OR SAVE AND WE WOULD ATTACK OUR NEIGHBORS IF WE THOUGHT WE COULD PROSPER FROM IT.
You and a couple of others don't realize that its not about the money. Its about the will of the government.
Money means nothing, it is man made and only has a perceived value. Money is a excuse not to do something or a reason to.
If we stopped interfering in other governments affairs we would not be a target of terrorist and we would have resources to direct toward positive development here in our nation. We are a target because we use our resources to interfere with other countries governments.
It is to our governments advantage for Americans to remain ignorant and self righteous like MrOrph and feel like only the government should prosper while those of us who work and slave every day should be satisfied by being to be allowed to pay tax on every penny that passes from one hand to another.
We spend billions because this country is run by greedy people who have played a "Jedi mind trick " on us to make us think that we are their number one concern, Their actions say other wise.
Besides, that "Jedi mind trick" stuff only works on the weak minded like MrOrph.
Many of us have awaken and realize America is moving in the wrong direction and we need a course change.

Strange how Free killing system for the Government is readily accepted but a Free health care system for the citizens is a problem.
This country is full of brainwashed rally around the flag types who don't have a original thought in their heads.
Let me ask you. What does the government pay for? and where does it get its money? No who decides where the money is spent?
These brainless Neanderthals love America so much they are destroying it because they think they are always right.
Some of us want to live our lives and raise our families in peace and harmony, not reside in a nation of heartless selfish war mongering rulers, who use war as an excuse to take away our liberties, rights and privacies.

Yaaawwwnn.

Oh, sorry. What was the question again?

Should there be a really effective terrorist attack in this country (one to make 9-11 look like a drive by shooting) the result would no doubt be an economic and fiscal meltdown. Look what effect 9-11 had. Then were would your money come from for free health care?

Nothing is free. Nothing.

I'd rather that we didn't spend money on either. Illegals: deport them all and don't let them back in. Yes, this would cost a lot of money up front, but considering that illegals consume a disproportionate share of public resources, commit more violent crime per capita than legal citizens, and pay significantly less in taxes, it would save us in the long run. As far as Iraq is concerned, we totally screwed up there, which comes as no surprise considering that every time we've intervened over there, it's been to the detriment of the local inhabitants (partitioning of Persia into Iran+Iraq, CIA overthrow of Iranian democracy in the fifties and installing the Shah, etc., etc., etc.) We should get out and work with the locals to try to restore some sense of balance there. Again, big cost up front, but big long-term benefits.

A free health care system? What are you smoking? There is NO such thing. It is only a question of WHO pays for it - the person receiving the care, an insurance company, or a government entity which uses tax revenue or deficit spending to fund it.
Tell me please, who is greedier? The person who wants to keep the money he earns, or the person who wants to use the power of government to take what someone else has earned?
BTW, I'm not pro-war.

Well security issues are important but I do have an other expenditure that you can take from. Both the free health-care you want and the national deficit could be eliminated if we just stop foreign aid. Simple solution. Or if you really want free health care go into the military and get VA benefits.

Great idea, the free health care system could be used to treat all the survivors of terrorist attacks. Good plan.

This is a bit of a juvenile question.

First, we are not spending billions killing people. Try to remember that the Extremists that we are at war with, want to kill US, mmmkay, and we want to kill them first. Understand?

Second, if the government was to provide you free everything, what would be your initiative to actually do something productive?

So, you have a need for health care - government gives
...you have a need for a car - government gives
why not throw in a free college education, free retirement funds...

What would be the point of working? Don't worry, those of us, who are self reliant, will work so that our taxes can pay to take care of your needs.

It really is ironic that we will spend 1 TRILLION dollars in Iraq, yet, to those that support the war most passionately, universal health care is a socialist threat to the American way of life! Our government not only has the right, but, it has the duty, to invest in its people's future!
