I have a few sprain injuries that ache from time to time. Two are from high school where I once sprained my ring finger (10 years ago) and my left ankle (9 years ago) and then the other is from a little more than a year ago when I sprained the top of my foot. Sometimes they ache, and my foot just downright hurts from time to time.

Anyone else experience this with old sprain injuries?

I went to the ER about my foot but not the other two cases if that helps.

When you sprain something you pull the legaments away from the muscle, the damage will take a long time to heal. In the process of healing, you sometimes reinjure it and don't even know it. So it is a constant healing process. I sprained my ankle years ago, then broke the same one, I think because it was never strong after the sprain. Mine has finally stopped aching, but it has been 30 years since the original sprain.

Yes. I have injured my right ankle twice quite badley. The first time was 9 years ago and the second about 6 years ago. It took ages to heal properly and still aches from time to time. It also clicks a lot more than it use to and i'm half expecting to get artheritis in it when i'm older.

old injuries come back to hurt more often, the older you get.
