My 07 civic I bought from honda, has gold paint in the back bumper when sun reflects on it the whole thing! Im waiting for a rep from honda to call back to set an appointment. What if he says he will not paint the back bumper? How would I take this? Also if it does go well I have to wait 2 days for it to get fixed. I will need a car in the mean time, would they supply me with a temp one? If they dont then what should I do? Thanks in advance!!!

I got it off the car lot its only 3 months old the car, new 07. Its a factory part that did not come in the exact color of the car when put together.

WOW does the gold color under the paint in anyway effect the running or safeness of the car? It took you a year to find the paint defect? Or does the rest of the car have opalescent Gold color just when the sun hits the paint just right? I have paint defects all along the side of my car just visible in the right light. And I did not repair them because body shop would have over spray all over my car and paint build up will chip off easier. So be careful what you ask for!

Well, then cars are painted all at one time when they are in the factory to prevent just what you are seeing now, so if this was the original part, the most likely, the car was hit in the rear, fixed and painted and they missed the right paint code when they repainted the rear bumper, and the dealer didn't tell you about it. happens alot, dealerships are cooked All the time as a general rule. would be hard for you to prove though. I would take the car to a good body shop that handels hondas and as them to do an inspection of the rear end. If they didn't disclose this to you, that's fraud. hmm.

I'm assuming this is overspray of some unwanted paint?
If you feel that this is the dealers fault and they are willing to fix it the may offer a loaner vehicle. That depends on the dealer and this is something you should ask before you buy any car to know what thier policy is in that situation. If they do not agree to fix it you might call your insurance company and explain the situation and see if it is covered that way.
