Hey everyone.

I've had my iMac for around 18months now however i am now giving it to a family member as i have just bought a Macbook.

However, what im looking to do is have the iMac as close to as it was when i bought (eg. all my files removed, all the applications ive downloaded removed) so its like a brand new computer for him.

How Do I do this most effectively?
(However I don't want to delete Microsoft Office that i've installed as its the student one and ive ran out of codes).

Thanks to anyone who answers!

Back up all your personal files first, then use the OS X disk that came with it. Insert it and turn on your MAC.

Follow the instructions in the User Manual to do a clean install, to replace with a factory fresh version.

YOU will lose MS-Office, but, Neo-Office is free and compatible with it. It's on the Apple download site.
