I've recently gained abbout 7kgs (15pounds) in the last 2 months from being on the birth control pill Yasmin.

It's seriously affecting my well being and as well as dieting and excercising to get the weight off....I was wondering if going off the pill would help speed things up?

Any help would be appreciated

Yes, it is commonly know that birth control pills cause weight gain. I would try to go off of the Yasmin, but of course use some other type of birth control method. Otherwise, you could get pregnant, and then here comes more weight! Ask your doctor if there is a pill that you could switch to-to help prevent weight gain. You never know?? They are always coming up with something new...

Yes, going off the pill may help you lose that 15 pounds (which is mostly water weight because of the hormones in the medication) but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Yes, I think it will I lose 17 pounds when I went off the pill.

I also have heard that taking natural keefer helps you reduce weight.I have heard that yes indeed, birth control pills will cause weight gain.
If you do believe that this is the result talk it over with your gynaecologist. Always seek their help, before making such major decisions.
