This is remarkably close to the truth.
Love is the force that joins us to the common cause of our mutual survival.
Fear inspires this joining.
To say love casts out fear, is to acknowledge that through
fear, love is summoned.
Note: Jeez SEM, Pain is the warning you are losing something you need. I.e. blood or a mate.

Not all fear is of loss, but certainly that's a big one. And love does cause dreadful, ghastly loss from deep inside the soul, causing breathtaking, stunning, pain. So it's not a bad quote, tho it sounds like bubblegum psychology on the surface.

i agree that all fear is the fear of loss, and only through that fear can we truly love.
In fear we,people, find that fear is only gained through absence of darkness. The darkness is not the scary part at all, it whats inside of the darkness and what happens when it becomes dark is the scariest. After we learn that darkness will always be here, then we can accept and embrace it. Then we will eventualy learn to love it.

the absent of confidence what? of course the fear so we need to understand the fundamental so we can not get anything from nothing so changing something into this perfect state, we need something or someone so closely, Have a look at this world of wonders of yours and then you know the truth, when you listen to your real voice and then Having a strong desire to do the best every day then stick with the best to do your best. And most importantly, try to be grateful for what you have now and try to know where you come from to have the great gift of understanding and then, have the faith to become the best winner in your life. And this is the best meaning of happy life. Good luck.

Not really. I fear being stabbed. Not because of the "LOSS" of blood, but because of the pain I would gain.
I also disagree with the premise that through fear of loss we find true love. Thinking about the loss of my true love bring anxiety and sadness.

Indeed so. Death is the greatest fear because death is the greatest loss. But in reality no one and nothing dies. Even accepting this philosophically, the sense of seperation still remains. Only when it is seen that even that seperation is not real is there finally freedom from all fear.

I agree that fear is basically a feeling of loss weather your own or something you care about outside your self. Now if you can tell me what true love is i might agree with the second part. I know that deep inside each of us abides true love...:)

Ah, the unspoiled profundity of television programs.
It must be great fun for the writers to spill their inadequacies into others' lives.
