Do you think Victorian train stations that were abandoned or demolished and tracks dismantled over 10 to 100 years ago could have been remain here today?

It would be good for the country folks to travel one town to another. Or maybe they can travel all the way to the CBD

Maintaining railway tracks is expensive. If the line generates a lot of income then it is worth keeping open. If there are only a few people using it, a bus is more practical and much cheaper. When railways were first installed they were the fastest and easiest way to get anywhere. Over time, road transport has improved so that railways are no longer the fastest or easiest way to travel and people have stopped using the trains in country areas. It is sad to see the lines go but it is impractical to keep them open.
