Sure !!

Backward classes have a right to demand extra facilities from the government. But there should be a few ground rules...

The quota should be openly appended to the qualification.

When I go to a new hospital, I have a right to know who will treat my child. The quota doctors with MBBS degree should append MBBS(SC or ST or OBC). By not mentioning this, the government is allowing them to cheat common citizens.

As a paying customer and an Indian citizen, don't you have a right to the information on the background and qualifications of the doctor who will treat your infant child??

The government has a right and a moral duty to pull up backward classes - but they cannot hold back your right to know who is from which quota. After all you are paying for the service.

Had this been practiced from independance, we would not have so many people agitating so that they can be called 'backward'.

There are many socially disadvantaged people who without reservation can not afford education in the competitive world and any society which does not take all its people along will create severe divisions and gaps in society which might even endanger what all the so called civilisation has achieved. Moreover you can not call any society civilised when large section of its people are deprived of the fruits of civilisation. But,my friend, you too have a valid point. Reservation is being used to build vote bank by dolling out benefits without in anyway contributing to the upliftment of the deprived.Hence, Reservation must be linked to the development of the beneficiary,it is extended only if he shows academic improvement.Whether one studies or not one gets his seat and job is a worst situation for both the disadvantaged as well as to society; In fact it is a crime!

Where else would all Indians live if we didn't have reservations? Just kidding. That was meant as a joke. What is your question about? Being reserved as in personality? Then yes, it is good.

It is quite irrelevant in todays society. Everyone knows that the reservation is being promoted merely for the shake of Politics today. It has no merit.

Well I dont think it is required.... coz in this way general people are being cheated...... if you want a good place in some field try to give your best........ why to get youself availed of things coz you r of some lower caste or creed....... I think it hampers development of the country....
I'm sorry if I've hurt someone.....coz i'm not intended to hurt anyone.......

Do you mean reservation? If so, it is helpful if you want to get seated at a proper time without waiting.
