here's the deal.

Oil is a vital resource to the USA and the West. Like it or not, that is what we use. We borrow $1 Billion a day so we can buy foreign oil.

If the oil supply was cut off in the gulf, it could cripple the Western economies. Do you want to pay $175.00 a gal for gas?

Until we can get more energy independent (got the oil companies, and the auto makers to fight on this one), we will be dependent on foreign oil.

Like it or not that is how it is. This really is an old old question.

The US had a plan to get in and defeat Saddam, but no plan how to get out. There was obvious errors here.

You went to Iraq because of WMD and because of Saddam.

when you went their they reports say that they USA did not find any WMD, you think that USA will be smarter than that, USA has they they intelligence to know that Saddam did not have any WMD. so it comes down to this USA security sucks or they want oil. logical answer is they oil.

I don't believe that this is true, Saddam had, and used W.M.D.'s as recently as 1991.....that's good enough for me!
But lets just say for a moment that the war is about oil......SO WHAT? Oil is life blood of the civilized world, now, and for generations to come. Maintaining a stable supply of crude oil is just as much of a national defense issue as W.M.D.'s in the hands of a madman.
