I am sorry if some of you did misunderstand.
I am not judging anyone.
I am not upholding a religious view, sorry about that as it is not the way I intended it.
You are right that in UK today maybe it seems to some people that abortion is better than growing up here.
This makes me really sad.
Of course it is right for a woman to be able to choose abortion if she has been raped, or maybe just because she feels like it, it is a personal choice, I have no business judging others.
WHAT I did want to ask was just that since the UK is officially the WORST place according to the OECD why does the government not do more to make the UK climb up to the TOP of the OECD ratings like:
Better hospitals
Better public transport especially for people with pushchairs
Better schools
Better childcare
Safer roads
Less tax on working people
More affordable housing
Then if UK would do better (after all is this not the JOB of government), to make UK the BEST PLACE FOR CHILDREN then there would be less abortion

Your opinion seems sound and ought to be, but the unfortunate truth is that many young couples are choosing a second car or bigger mortgage and even better holidays over parenthood; especially young people on good incomes. This is materialism run mad of course, but there it is, there are people who would have to be impoverished to some degree before they decided to have babies.

I'm not sure where you got the information that the UK is the worst, looking at 2007 data published we rank around the average mark (except in obesity) and always above the USA.

I agree that the UK could be doing a lot more than it is and putting it's citizens first would be a good start.

I doubt any improvements would make a difference in the rate of abortions as the future situation of the country shouldn't rank high when making these decisions.

I actually answered your question on abortion and i am sorry if it got misconstrued....in the UK we have an over population of immigrants arriving on our shores on a daily basis, most of these people have a very different belief system to the average born and bred Brit, for example they tend to have babies as though they are shelling peas, this in turn takes up a huge proportion of our healthcare and benefit system.

For young girls today i think there should be compulsory sex education and they should be shown what its really like to be lumped with a baby that isnt wanted, maybe this would cut down on the underage sex that is so rampant over here (no pun intended)

I am still pro abortion, for a woman who has been raped or for a woman not mentally ready to give a child the nurturing and love it needs to survive, it is still the best option....i agree though that it should not be used as another method of contraception.

Yeah if the conditions were better there would be fewer abortions. But sadly the government doesn't have as much control as you would think. We don't even know how many immigrants are here.

People from all over the world see england as an easy living -you dont have we will give it to you. Housing, food, medical care.

We also support people who choose to have babies they can't afford - instant house and meal ticket for life. If it were up to me you would need government approval to breed.
Human rights don't work perfectly.
Why should a murderer in prison have the right to have his girlfriend - also in prison - inseminated so he can have the right to a family life? Who is going to pay for it? And what about the child's rights?

People who have council houses have the right to buy them - with the handouts they are getting off the government. Who is going to help me buy a house? Its seems those who help themselves are just trodden into the dirt

We are facing economic collapse - we just can't afford to support people who do nothing for society or their children. Its quite a miserable state of affairs.

I didn't misunderstand your question. When you say abortion is murder it makes me angry. Life is bleak for most - I see not bringing them here as kindness. Its the best thing I can do for my unborn children - keep them like that

All the things you mention are intended to make us materially better off but most of the problem with our society is that we are too focused on our wealth or lack of it to the extent that we have become selfish and morally degenerate. The latter are not items that the government can address - indeed if anything legislation by successive governments has given people the impression that they have no responsibility for their own lives or those of their family and has accelerated society's decline. While it would be foolish to suggest that we should not strive to improve our material well-being, in my view it is not the state of our services that causes the problem but the state of our society.

Apology accepted, but I still believe that all children born should be wanted.
Do you remember after the revolution in Romania in 1989 and hundreds of orphanages were discovered with children in very bad condition, because Ceausescu wouldn't allow abortion or contraception? Hence parents who couldn't afford to bring children up had to leave unwanted children at these orphanages. Do we really want this to happen again?

Well its nice to know some one will admit they got it wrong,
I will retract my ignoramus tag,
As for this new list its about balancing the books not morals,
Britain cannot afford all these things, we cannot afford to progress at the present rate, unless we borrow more we must tread water or reduce the strain on our present resources,
but that means business not making huge profits and so it goes on,
I think we should bite the bullet try to reduce the population of our countries, then encourage the rest to follow suit,
until the world has a population that do sent outstrip resources
we are on the rocky road to hell

I didn't see your last question, but have to ask how you think the government will pay for the better hospitals, transport, childcare, schools, housing, roads, whilst taxing people less?

If you can answer that I'll vote for you!

Anyway, having read your last question now, I am pro choice, But it shouldnt be regarded as a form of birth control. There are pills, condoms, inserts, etc etc to do that.

I just think that as a bloke I shouldnt be telling women whether they should carry a child or not. Its in their body, its their choice.

So long as someone isn't giving anyone a hard time about it though I also dont object to people having opinins to the contrary. Dont let the fanatics bother you.
