You may also speak with the manager about the possibility of purchasing the posters. I talked the manager of my local theater and bought all of the Star Wars posters, including the special editions released in the 90's. I had to pay for them though. The problem now is most people just want to sell them on ebay.

Some do, but it might help if you know somebody who works there. My friend's father was a security guard at a theater, and he brought her lots of old movie posters.

Depends on the distributor , some film companies demand all posters back. But a quiet word with an usher or someone else on the staff. Some do end up on walls of projectionists or other staff, if they don't end up on ebay or another site

our movie theater does, also check your local video stores. i work for a family video, and half of the posters we receive end up in the dumpster!

They sell them. A lot of people buy movie posters.

sometimes, i asked the same question they mostly give them away to charities or autions. i was after the transformers one good luck

Some do, but you have to be there when they are switching them out.... thats how they do it here on the IL side.
