Tony Romo is only in his second season as starting quarterback and he already seems like a great quarterback

Blasphemy. Romo is good/clutch. Brady is godly. Both are great quarterbacks but Romo wont be on Brady's level.

Romo has potential to be a better QB than Brady but it's still too early to really say. The thing that makes Brady so good is that he knows how to win. If it was all about stats the people would rate Marino over Montana in most cases. But Brady is a Montana type QB who doesn't always have the best numbers but he will be on the winning side of the ball. If Romo can get a few rings and keep his numbers up then he will be compared to the greats like Brady, Manning, and Montana. Until then, time can only tell.

First off, let me give mad props to Tom Brady. I personally loathe the Patriots, Bellichick, and Brady. But, the guy knows how to win. I totally have to admit that Brady is a game management genius. He can read defenses almost as well as Peyton Manning. He knows when to give up on a risky play and when to step on the opposing teams' throats. He also has incredible decision-making abilities and instincts.

However..

If we are talking talent. Tom Brady barely breaks the top 5 in the league CURRENTLY. Much less all-time. If you were to give a Peyton Manning, a Ben Roethlisberger, a Carson Palmer, and yes a Tony Romo, the same coach, the same system, and the same teams that Tom Brady has had around him. There is no doubt the same conversations would be had about any of them. So I do think Tony Romo could be as good as Tom Brady. In fact talent wise, he's already better. But to get the worldwide recognition that Brady gets, he will have to get the same level of team around him to pull him up to Brady's level.

Oh and for the guy that said Romo has a popgun arm... watch the damn games. He's compared to Brett Favre for a reason. I promise he can throw just as far as Brady or Manning.

Yes. There are several quarterbacks better than Brady.

Romo will be exceptional because like Favre he can take a completely broken play and convert it into something positive. Hopefully he doesn't start throwing a ton of interceptions by trying too hard to force things like Favre.

Better than Brady, we don't know since Romo is still young. Does he have the same desire to win as Brady, yes. Does he have the ability to lead his team to multiple championships, yes.
I'm a huge Brady fan but I see a lot of Brady in Romo. Ignore all the Romo haters. Most are jealous because Romo is not on their team.

Are you on crack? No. Romo hasn't accomplished anything except for beating up on the JV NFC. How about he wins a playoff game before we talking about being better than a 3-time SB champion, 2-time SB MVP and who is on pace to break the single season touchdown record. Romo can't even carry Brady's jock right now.

While a lot of QB(s) may be able to be statistically better than Tom Brady-- i doubt that many QB(s) will be able to match Brady's post-season accomplishments.

For years the Peyton-Brady debate has gone on- and it really wasn't a relevant debate until Peyton won a Championship last year. So i'd say until Romo wins some rings- the comparison is not even worthwhile.

nope doubt it. Well Brady is a great quarterback surrounded by great players. What about Big Ben from Pittsburgh? As long as Romo is surrounded by great players then he will be great. A good quarterback throws touchdowns. A great quarterback makes everyone around him better. Till Romo can do that as Brady can I doubt it.

Lets wait until he actually wins a superbowl, or maybe a playoff game before we start saying how great he is. He looks good, but he has done nothing yet.

Ryne... have you watched Brady ever? He is constantly making 3rd down passes... and 99% of qbs ratings go down when they are pressure. He is about as overrated as Joe Montana.

there are many great qb's to say that one will end up being better than the other will always be open to debate. To some it will come down tto how many superbowls they have won, others it will be stats. To me both seem to be a couple of the best qb's out there right now, however there will more than likely be that one person that comes along and blows both of these guys out of the water.
