I took 10yr to dr he said he has never seen this and said he
would send her to another Dr, I wounder If I should wait much
longer? its been six months no change in bruise. I have
asked alot of friends and get no kind of answer on this
other then it looks bad. Its very dark red and starts just
below belly and ends at knee. what is this?

I would take her to a hematologist or dermatologist. It may be a blood disorder or a skin disorder. A bruise for 6 months is definitely not normal. Basically, if it is a bruise, it would hurt when touched. It sounds like something else is going on. Basic bloodwork may reveal something including clotting times. Many pediatricians are hesitant in providing any major diagnosis or doing bloodwork. If you have a passive pediatrician, nothing is ever wrong with your child, even if their arm is hanging off. Have you tried using something like Neosporin on it to see if it has any effect?

I wish I could be more helpful, but I truly have no real suggestions.

Perhaps a wound care doctor would have a solution.

it is VERY important that you stay vigilant. this could be from a number of things ranging from nutrition to abuse.
