Go to Control Panel- Languages- Advanced- Choose another Language. Select English United Kingdom.

How did you do it in your question. You may have a "function" mode activated that makes shift+2 do something else. look for a "fn" or "f" key on your key board and make sure that's not enabled...
If all else fails hold alt, press 0 6 4 then let go of alt

I just used the answer from lemonpie it worked for me I was getting fed up of using the shift 2 options

It's in different places in different keyboard layouts.
In UK it should be Shift and ' key
In US it should be Shift and 2 key
In Spain it should be AltGr and 3 key
Those are the most popular combinations. If none of those work repost and tell us where your computer was bought.

Try shift and 2 it might be an american lay out. it should be either there or two buttons across from L and shift.
