Investing is never a bad idea...and investing in stocks and stock market is actually a better idea..but might become bad if people become more greedy and foolish...
it requires lotta patience...time...thinking to invest here..and knowledge about the market is essential to trade...if the stock is fundamentally good then no body makes losses if they pick it up for delivery and sell it when it reaches to the desired level of the investor inspite of the market up's n down..
losses happens only if u want more n more ouuta what u've got...actually thats a bad idea ..not investing...if u r greedy..and foolish like that u can loose money any where and every where..why just stock market?

Investing in share market is good provided you have a investment plan and stick to it. then you can never end up in losses. identify some companies in diverse industry like infrastructure, IT, banking, steel, etc. determine the expected return from your investment, the loss which you can bear, once you earn ur expected return or cross your expected loss come out of the stock. and do not be tempted to come out of the stock before earning the expected return.

It is a gambling game.

If you win, you gain and if you lose, you lost. Looks simple isn't it?

That is where all the complexity of the game is. There is no stringent rules to predict. Unless the market is really running high as it is now in India.

It is much more possible to predict in sports like Cricket or Football on a given a day who will win.
