I like the whole story plot.
It's also one of the nice decent pirate movies very funny too!
There is no problem for the first two movies but the second movie got a little too dragged out
Its a little too long and much talking less action...
It has those in the end, has a very catchy opening but for those who didn't follow the first two movies they are in for a jumble...
I really have no problems with the characters they're cool and have twisty characteristics, very well portrayed!
it has a good director too!

There was no script before the movie started filming. The story was made up as the movie was being made. It showed. This movie was pointless and loaded with special effects. All the special effects in the world can't make for a lack of a good story.

It was all effects and not much story. It felt thrown together. I felt that Johnny seemed to realize that there wasnt much script and there was a sense of too many producers and others with their fingers in the soup. Too many opinions, too much consensus and not enough of the directors vision. It felt like Disney brass and Bruckheimer hijacked the movie's premise and storyline in favor of pandering to merchandise tie ins.
Anyway, after years of being put off by Mr Depp's extraordinary beauty, (I found it too distracting and too feminine like) as he's aged he's gotten more manly. I started to really like him in "Sleepy Hollow" and came to appreciate his fearlessness - not many actors would scream and faint like a 12 y o girl, not even for a character. I had to respect him for that.
And he's still purty.
I wanna like Keira but she's kinda of obnoxious and its not the character, I think its her and it comes off her in waves.
Orlando Bloom. I liked him better in "Kingdom of Heaven" which took me 3 tries before I could sit thru it end to end.
He buffed up for the role and looked good. He did the action stuff really well. So I dont know why he didnt look as good in POTC movies. He's supposed to be a pirate, hardened by the sea etc - it just didnt seem like he wanted to be there. Or that he was intimidated by Depp. It was fun watching Rush try to act Depp off the screen. Almost did.
But the biggest disappointment was the much ballyhooed meeting of Keith Richards with Johnny Depp - they (the filmmakers) had a GOLDEN opportunity to have them do drunken, mumbling, slightly incoherent Keith Richards to each other as father and son, but they kinda muffed it - a true disappointment.
It all seemed a mish mash.

I was taken in by POTC-I, was thoroughly entertained by II, but felt absolutely deceived by III. Reasons:
- The clever quips and sharp wit evident in I and refined in II, were sorely lame in III.
- The SFX was amazing in II, and was rendered with a careful eye. In III - CGI usage was plain as daylight.
- The plot was unnecessarily convoluted.
- The chemistry between the leads were excellent in I & II. It was totally platonic in III and somehow made me feel as though Sparrow, Elizabeth & Will were brothers and sisters.

I don't know why i didn't like because i loved the previous movies. I just thought it was stupid. kinda like the last movie of lord of the rings. it feel way short of my expectations...
i did love the ship full of jacks though... that was hot. i don't really like JD, but he made one hot pirate....
it was stupid. i saw it in the theaters, fell asleep, then my husband bought it for me yesterday, and watched up until the crabs... and did something else... it was just not great.
