Think of an ant farm, they go about there lives everyday without ever knowing they are someones pets, they are being watched constantly and some higher power is controlling there fate even though they are totally oblivious.
Couldn't we be in the same situation, could we all just be very advanced ants with someone controlling or influencing our every move. Also couldn't this be where the theory of a god or higher power makes sense...?

I have often thought of ourselves as a test station, a way for our species to be tested. Our government is far too secretive for it to be our government, I mean this big brother thing where ever we go what ever we do someone is watchin us this could be true, we aren't being watched by humans we are being watched by something/someone else. At first they never influenced us at all but now slowly over time we get more restricted building to a massive finale where we all die terrible terrible deaths or maybe not maybe one day right before we destroy ourselves they will come and save a select few for population of a new planet to see if anything changes.
Well its a nice idea but even I think that's all a load of codsh1t .

yes, ive thought the same but instead of pets i thought of some kind of human experiment by something such as aliens. Because i went from the conclusion that we are aware of our surroundings and did not think about being a 'pet' but you have a point. That is possible. I think it may be us thinking we are the highest order but someone or something is controlling us. We may be entertainment being watched by a higher power or order as in an experiment. So yes looking at it that way you can also say somewhat of a 'pet'. I went from the conclusion we do have free will to a certain extent but limited.

Well, I think it's possible but instead of God, I think it's aliens who's controlling us, so the idea of a God and heaven may just be what people in the ancient world perceived to be when they had encounters with the aliens.

Yes, we could be, because it makes sense of a 'god', think like a dolls house, we control them by moving them, but imagine the dolls walk and move by themselves, we watch from above and modify whatever we want to happen. It exactly represents life.

If I am someone's pet, then I am reporting them to animal control. They have way overfed me and bred me instead of spaying me. I have had no training and I have a tendency to run away if you leave the gate open.

Hypothetically, yes, but since there's no way to get testable predictions from this idea it will remain in the realms of philosophy, religion and Hollywood screenwriters, but not science.
