I would choose Stock because he is my favorite player before i saw Nash. Although Isiah is a better scorer and rebounder, Stock can produce a lot of points for his teammates. So i choose Stock because he is a better team player and the smartest player of all time....in my book!

After witnessing both players in their prime, I would go with Isiah. He was a much better offensive threat and yet was just as good as Stockton dishing it off. And like Stockton he was a very smart player. Defensively, I think Isiah had the edge. Both could get a lot of steals, but I think Isiah was a better rebounder.

I'm a huge John Stockton fan. A great team needs a true point guard. Stockton's could create plays (NBA's all time assist-man in history) for the team & if needed hit the big shot just like Isiah could. Defensively he is also very good.

Isiah Thomas, he has championship rings. Stockton doesn't.

depends on the makeup of my team.

if i had a bunch full of scrubs, i'll go with isiah being that he's one of the best scoring point guards in the history of the game.

if i had a dominant big man in my team, i'll go with stockton to maximize my big man plays.

Zeke because he could score bunches if he needed to.
Stockton was obviously a better assist man, but Isiah could do that too. Good question though, because both guys were brilliant on the floor, they rarely turned it over, and they were winners.

Isiah, he wasn't just good in assisting but he could definitely dominate a game.

The only edge I give to Isiah is his defensive tenacity. Shooting and passing and ball handling they all balance out between them but the defense tips in Thomas' favor.
