Assuming you're using Windows...
There is a green icon on the lower-left corner of your screen that says "Start" - Click it.
When the next set of items comes up, click on "Shut Down"
When the new window opens, select "Shut Down" on the drop down menu.
Click "OK"
Congratulations, you're at least 80% there, and the rest will come naturally.
