Is smoking still cool in your book?

Smoking isn't unhealthy any more than anything else.

Smoking and "Cool" don't go together, however it does bother me if I am eating. Most places have banned smoking sections in resturants which is alright. There is still nothing like a group of friends, cognac, and a great cigar.

I have been smoking cigars for 15 years now, but its not something I do everyday and even if I did, like anything else its a personal choice. Most of the time I smoke at a Cigar Club or Lounge where we all have the same thing in common. I respect those that don't smoke, so please leave me alone when I choose to smoke.

At any rate, I too disagree with some of the "Anti-Smoking Propaganda." Most non-smokers believe what they read and hear as truth, which infringes on the rights of us that choose to smoke. I agree, don't market, influence, or sell tobacco to minors, but taxpaying adults make adult decisions and should not be punished. Bottom line, pass a law making the sell and consumption of tobacco illegal otherwise quit with the B.S. and lets come to a happy medium.

Non-smokers need to realize, if a special interest group can take away my right to smoke in my house or car, image what they can take away from you!!! Remember how everyone felt when that lady spilled a hot cup of coffee on herself, then sued Mc Donalds??? That situation cause a chain reaction to the point you now have to ask for hot coffee. Imagine this happens again and coffee is now declared dangerous and bad for our "children" and blah-blah-blah. Now Starbucks is gone!!! I know this is a corny example, but that is how things begin.

Final comment, second hand smoke is not as deadly in the way it is marketed to us. How many of you know someone, that knows someone, that thinks they know someone that died from it???? That's what I thought.

That's a good question...I'm not one to judge. What floats one person's boat certainly doesn't sink mine...to each his own.
I don't really like being around smoke. The harmful side effects of second-hand smoke are pretty awful.

But to answer your specific question, I'm on the fence. When I see someone who's really cute and happens to smoke, it doesn't make me any less attracted to them, but I'm not sure that I would date them. On the other hand, smoking is still made out to be this glamorous thing when you see it in movies and the like. So they do look cool in Hollywood but not in real life.

It was never cool..Cigarette companies just made people think it was via advertising.

Now it's really uncool and smokers are seen as sad characters like junkies craving their next fix.
