Ask me in about a year. ;)

And just for the record, I love it when people call the country "the Iraq."

I am not at all optimistic. Case in point: If you watched "60 Minutes" last Sunday you would have seen a good story about the 1 million Christians who lived in Iraq prior to U.S. occupation. Those people have had to run for their lives and many, many were murdered (nobody knows how many). This slaughter did not occur until the occupation began.

We should leave Iraq now so that the people of Iraq can begin reconstruction. No long-term solution will take place before we have withdrawn.

Are you kidding?

When has there ever been peace in the middle east?

We might pull out some troops in 2008, but when we leave, chaos will resume, and Syria and Iran could easily take control over the oil there. We can't allow that. Unless you want to pay $7.00-9.00 gal for gas?

Iran is a much more scarier issue now. Far more dangerous than Iraq ever was.

Reason: Their agressive nuclear ambition. And Pres of Iran said he wants Israel off the map.

50% chance we use military to take out Iranian nuke developments before Bush leaves office. If they are close to development, Isreal already said, if the UN doesn't stop Iran, Israel will.

Israel bombed Iraq's nuclear program in I believe it was in the 1970's.

You have pressed a hard question that i think about too. Sadly Iraq will not be stable due to Bush's arrogance but after he is gone look for some bright things coming Iraq's way by the time 2009 comes around. Then again we still have to pull our troops out of their they just haven't gotten the respect they deserve but we can never repay what they paided for with their blood

2008 you mean in like 25 days from now?

stable like, they finally accept the fact that we will always have a presence there,
and they quit blowing themselves up to get us out.

sure, maybe one daymiddle easterns will unanimously forget thousands and thousands of years of culture and finally accept American the occupation and way of life(kind of like japan did). I guess it makes sense to go by the working model that has proven successful results.
maybe next year?, it's an election year, nothing wins votes like stopping a war.
then he can start another one to win even more votes.
