It depends on the car i believe,i hate auto's and when the wife saw a Nissan Skyline in our budget and it being autoi was unsure.
After driving other auto's and hating them,But after fetching it and driving it home i loved it.enough to buy another model with the same box.
So it depends on the car,My car is very responsive to the box and pedal and changes really quick or slow do to the bonus of having a power button which is instant power and a rev hold button.
So i would say stick in general but, unless you have tried varies models of cars and boxes,it would only be an opinion..

I had to learn off stick shift and I loved it. It's a little tricky at first but once you get used to it, an automatic is so boring. When I drove an automatic I kept stepping for the clutch....
Sticks are definitely more fun for me anyways.

Stick shift is more fun to drive in my opinion. You have complete control over when you shift gears, which gives you a lot of power. You can use the engine's power to the best of its capability. The only downside to stick shift is if you drive in an area that tends to have a lot of traffic. Driving around city streets with a stick shift is a bit of a hassle sometimes.

hands down the stick is the most fun as 1st gear is lower so you get more torque multiplication which equals faster starts and the lenier G forces that push you back in your seat, chirping the tires going into second is fun in stick cars too, they are lighter and can be push started also.and clutch replacment is always cheaper than a trip to the automatic trans shop-lol

Stick is more fun to me. Once you have been driving one for awhile, you don't even think about shifting gears...you just do it. My SRT4, Ranger, Busa and Harley are all manual transmissions, my wifes neon is an automatic and I hate it. If you are a bad driver, don't get a stick-shift.

Nowadays you can choose a car that has a manumatic or tiptronic type of transmission. Meaning you can go full auto when in just casual cruising or shift gears manually when you want more control of the gears. So, in that case, you don't have to choose as you have the best of both worlds.

Stick is more fun. Cars with stick tends to be cheaper.
Stick gets old real quick, though.

honestly i wouldnt know since i only drive automatic...but i think manual is only useful in rally racing. other then that seems pretty pointless....its not even cool! old people know how to drive manual because they didnt have a choice!
