A leader needs to exhibit a number of qualities: the ability to use people's skills and aptitudes to the best possible advantage; to understand that if one leads one must make sure there are followers; and to provide the resources, feedback and motivation to succeed as individuals and as an organization.
One can be a leader in every facet of life--as the head of a family, a community leader, a team member/leader at work, the head of an organization, and so forth. There are very few areas where leadership is not essential.

I feel a good leader needs to be honest, fair and be able to handle complicated situations along with disputes between workers while keeping a level head. They also need to be able to keep business and friendship separate, that prevents a lot of bickering and hostility among the workers. A good leader should ensure that employees understand their job duties so they can perform them adequately instead of placing the blame on the workers every time something goes wrong. I've only had one boss in my life that was capable of achieving most of these goals, her only problem was that she allowed people to walk all over her. ;-)

A leader should be revolutionary be creative trust his people help his people and personally that leader should be able to unify the Earth under one flag and use each reigons strengths to build the first intergalactic power and see the galaxy. Who agrees with that and we once we get there we can have a nice long laugh at oil for finnally being free from its shackles

this is a very broad question. It really depends on what your trying to lead. I am an adult leader for boyscouts, and we lead by letting the boys do most the things on their own, learning from the own experiances, and being there for them when they need us (we use the patrol method in our troop, for those that know scouts). Leaders in other situations though will have different requirements. What is it your trying to lead?

Psychology! Being a good leader is about working out who needs positive encouragement and who needs telling whats what more bluntly. Its about finding a strong team who support u and u supporting them too.
Its mostly about putting your team before yourself really.

If he or she is capable of actually doing what he/she wants his/her people to do. In other words, lead by doing (lead by example).
