I feel like applying some cream or oil but I find it a nuisance because no proper work - like sewing ,washing ,typing, cooking etc. etc. can be done ! - by the way I like to be active. What is the remedy for this l dryness?

This has the common name of "housewife's eczema". It is an allergy to the chemicals and detergents that you use. Assuming you are not allergic to latex, use rubber gloves everytime you do any cleaning.
You can apply over the counter hydrocortisone ointment to speed up your recovery.

I also have problems with dry hands, get some moisturiser, unscented, the nice smelling stuff actually contribute to the drying out. Also use a barrier cream when using detergents and the like, this will help.

A doctor would be a good idea, do they have hand doctors like foot doctors?

use hand gloves. talk to some skin specialist immediately before it becomes untreatable.

hands should be dry... if you get used to creams, than normal hands will always be dry....
