i don't think you should have to announce it? it's no one's business but yours! be proud you're not running around sleeping with everything that moves. someone who is still a virgin around your age is very well respected and in no way should you be ashamed. i have friends in their 20's and late teens that are virgins and its no big deal at all. trust me, its much more attractive holding out for something special rather than sleeping with the first thing that talks to you. if your friends sit around and talk about sex all the time, it shows the kind of people they are. don't be one of them. be proud but if you don't want to share that part of your life with them, then don't!

Are you ashamed of being a virgin? I hope not. That is something to be proud of. I don't see why you should volunterily announce that your a virgin but if someone asks you if you are then I think you should be honest. If they don't outright ask, if they maybe ask something like ' Why don't you ever say anything about sex when we talk about it?' Just say ' I guess I just feel wierd talking about it, it's like a private thing to me, I don't know!" Don't mention that you've never kissed a girl though, that will prob. lead to a lot of teasing, It's really a shame that you feel that they will think your a loser or they wouldn't be your friend IF you were gay but I guess that's the way of things now, I would like to know what age group we're talking about though. I hope that when you do choose to have sex or kiss a girl that you won't feel compelled to talk & braf about it to all your friends, that's so lame.

You are 19 and a virgin? I think that is wonderful! I think you should keep yourself pure until you are married. So what if your friends tease you. If they do, you will know two things about them. 1) they are really just jealous; and 2) they are not true friends.
If the topic comes up, tell them you just haven't met a girl you like that much yet, and don't want to risk getting a girl pregnant, or getting some weird disease.
Purity and abstinence is very cool. don't let anyone tell you any different.

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin. Some people greatly respect someone who is a virgin. There's people out there that probably wish they were still a virgin. Just tell them. If they are truly your friends then being a virgin shouldn't matter. Way to wait for the right one.

Why you should worry about your virginity? If they a real friends they dont judge you for that shallow reason. Being a virgin sometimes it's a choice. If they ask why your still a virgin you can tell them that you cant find yet a special person to be experience . Just be yourself. Being a virgin it's not a measurement of being a gay.True friends never creticize you.

No, that is your own personal business. Some guys like to brag on what they do sexually with others which tells me that they are very childish. I am not a guy but, I think that sex is a private matter and should be kept that way. Personally if someone I had sex with went around telling what we did, I would dump him f o r e v e r!

Well, when I was 19, I was a virgin; and I had a huge hangup about it. I was very insecure about it. And I ended up getting involved with the very worst woman because of it. Hell - I could very easily have had a one-night stand, but I felt so guilty, I stuck with her for 3 years, and really screwed up my life. THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE!
I'm not saying "don't go out and get laid".
I'm not saying "save yourself for marriage."
I'm just saying - don't freak out about being a virgin.

Well I don't know the answer to your question..it's up to you, BUTTT....one of my good friends in college was a virgin and nobody really cared! If anything people valued it more. A virgin is much better than someone who sleeps around, right?

Hey Girl,
That is incredibly awesome that you are waiting. As for your freinds. if they base their friendship with you on whether you've had sex or not then maybe they were never really your friends to begin with. Real friends accept you for who you are and don't expect you do things like sex to be a cool person. Being you makes you cool and that's all that matters.

Seriously, if your friends don't accept you for being a virgin, why are you wasting your time with them? Tell them. There is NOTHING wrong with being a virgin... do it when you want.
