So you must be giving your partner a reason to keep asking what is the matter, pick your self up out of the dump and start acting like yourself again and your partner will not have to ask what's the matter.

Sometimes when a lover feels that the relationship is heading for trouble, they will panic and repeat things like "Whats the matter?" and "Are you ok?" If nothing is the matter then reassure them that everything's fine, and have a day of romance and relaxation (stress free). I f something is wrong, please tell them or break up with them, because its obvioous that they really care about and want the relationship to stay in good standing.

In short, if they are asking you whats the matter, then something might be 'the matter" with them. so ask them, because communication is key.

What is the matter? Is anything wrong? Does your partner have a reason to believe that something is wrong? I don't think it would be normal, if he or she just keeps walking around asking "whats wrong"...no that would be abnormal....but if you're acting strange...then I would ask also.

we all have our minor ups and downs, and for no reason at all. A partner that you've been with for a while, will know when your downs are, and take it as a sign that somethings wrong, even when there may not be a problem. Perhaps a little time for yourself, to get yourself into an "up time" would help the problem.

Something is the matter with somebody.

Someone is afraid to say something - because someone assumes (maybe rightly) that it will start a fight, and lead to a break-up.
