I am due with my first child, a beautiful baby girl mid month and have finally settled on a name that my family and I adore. It is pronounced Lie-arn (Arn as in Arnold, for example). However, I am into unique and unusual spellings, and therefore am looking for ideas which will flow with the middle name Rose and the surname Parker. If possible, I would like a spelling that looks Asian inspired in tribute to her father, who passed away during my pregnancy. Suggestions are appreciated and the best answer will go not only to the person who can come up with the most beautiful spelling, but who can make me love that spelling. P.S. It musn't be a spelling that my daughter is going to have to spend her life spelling out - I'd hate for her to turn around in years to come and dislike me for giving her such a unique name.

Name her Lynnette Rose Parker. Two syllables, one syllable, two syllables. Not too many of the same vowels sounds either. Congratulations on your expecting this new life!

You answered your own question. There is NO spelling of that name that she will not have to spend her life spelling out, because it's not a name. It's two random syllables, both of which have several possible spellings. And have you seriously considered the implications of giving your child a name which starts off "Lie" - both in terms of its sexual connotations and not telling the truth?
If you want a tribute to her father, why not give her a female version of his name?

Liarn Rose Parker to me seems to be the most practical in terms of convenient spelling and also 'prettyness'.
OR Liana Rose Parker (with the extra 'a' on the end) would flow much nicer to me but both are still pretty.
Or maybe Liarhn / Liahn / Lianh could serve the purpose but the 'h's could get confusing in terms of spelling it.
Best of luck and congratulations on your baby girl.

Natalie, might I suggest Liahn... o.k., she may have to spell it for some, but I think it picks up on her partly Asian heritage, as Ahn is a popular Asian name and one that can easily be associated with such heritage. Liahn Rose Parker... see if you like the look of it. Anyway, all the best and hope this beautiful blessing brings you endless joy and happiness. Also, my heartfelt condolescenes on your loss - may God be with you and your family at this difficult time.

Never call her 'lian'! If someone calls with an 'ah' in front, it becomes ah lian, one of the most unsightly asians ever behaved. These people are slightly better than gangsters but are still one of the most....horrid bunch of people.
Rose Yue Parker, Yue as in the moon, which is the 15th, about the middle of a month ^^ Pronounced as 'yu-eah'
