I guess I should give an answer too.

I was about 8 years old, staying with my grandparents. They were always bickering (in fact, they taught me all my bad words). They were so grumpy to each other but then one would wink at me when the other wasn't looking.

Anyway, one day Grandpa left the dinner table to go to the restroom. Grandma said, "And wash your damn hands AFTER you pee." And I asked Grandpa "You wash your hands before you pee?" And he smiles and goes "Yeah, I don't wanna get it dirty..."

no longer all older human beings awaken early. i'm an early riser, yet I easily have been all my existence. while i replaced into youthful, I had a selection of of chores to do and youthful siblings to tend, so i could arise early interior the morning to do my homework earlier going to college. As a youthful woman, I lived around the line from o.ok.highway sea coast and that i could awaken, make a cup of coffee and bypass to the sea coast earlier I have been given waiting to bypass to paintings. Now that i'm retired, I merely % to have quiet time to ascertain the morning paper or take a seat out on the patio. I easily have many buddies my age who think of 10 am is early sufficient to get off the mattress. So, this is different with each and each individual. Have a communication which incorporate your mom approximately your grandmother. She won't have any concept that she has brought about you rigidity over this difficulty. If she thinks this could be a very final bypass to which incorporate your grandmother, she could prepare you for it.

When Marilyn Manson was hitting his most popular point my cousin was wearing a shirt with Marilyn on it that said "Anti-Christ". We were at a salad bar for lunch together and this little Jewish couple (old, so cute) looked at us like we were crazy. The man said "Why does it have to say Anti-Christ, why can't it say Christ Superstar?" So flippin' hilarious with his little accent! To this day (10 years later) we still say it to eachother.

My boyfriend's father(he will be 84) told me that the nice about getting older is that there is no peer pressure. LOL The nicest thing that was said to me personally...I was in a Walmart store and saw a feeble looking man standing near the registers apparently waiting on someone. He managed to make his way towards me, and said " I can tell Jesus lives in your heart from the way you smile". That made me feel real good.

Many years ago, my second visit here in United States as a tourist, I met an elderly woman who was also waiting for the bus as I did. We got to talking and she asked me what I like in here, was it the people or the place? As a tourist, I visited countries primarily to see places. After that comment, my perspective changed whenever visiting other countries.

This is an excellent question. Thanks.

I'll never forget an elderly man giving a speech to everyone saying something like, "I don't claim to know much, I'm poor when it comes to advice. I know it's not what you claim to be, it's how you ACT in your life, it's what you DO to help others. If you have bad feelings for someone upon entering, hang those feelings on that nail outside the door before you enter. Nobody needs that in any house. We're here to help one another, if you see someone in need, HELP them if you can."
He gave one hell of a speech of which I can't remember all of it, I just know after every valuable words of wisdom, he'd claim to be poor when it came to knowing any words of wisdom. He was my hero for a long time. Everyone called him Sam Sam.

i worked in a nursing home several years ago, one of my favorite residents was dying, after several days of always checking on her the family was called because the time was near. i asked the family if i could come in to say good bye. when i got to her bedside, i leaned over, gave her a hug, with tears in my eyes i told her that i would miss her very much. i was the one who was suppose to be comforting her. she was not crying, she held my hand and pulled me toward her and said "honey, its not so bad to die, she thanked me for all that i did for her in the nursing home. i really started crying, here she was comforting me. what a sweet old women, i will never forget her

When I was 34 a 72 yr. old man wanted to be my surgardaddy. He told me that we would make it well worth my while. I did not take him up on it. But I will never forget it. I wonder sometimes how much worth my while it could have been.

My daddy told me when he reached 70, "Well, I've had my three score and ten God gave me. From now on it's all bonus!" He lived to 89. The best man that ever lived!!!!

And I want to tell you the dumbest thing ever said (from my ex-husband): "It's not what you are that counts; it's what you can make others think you are." (all this stupidity from a preacher, teacher, counselor....scary isn't it?)

An older lady said to me "honey, love is not a word, its an action". I've tried to keep that in mind every day since.

I like the question and you got some great answers!

Mine is just something that my Grandma says that I love.

She calls me "Rachel-baby". Every time I see her. She always has, and no one else does except her. I think it's so sweet =)
