maybe some girls...but in general I think it's just a stereo type like any other stereo type....
I know I would NEVER marry someone like my father...and most of my friends feel the same way.

Thats so funny! Hey it might be true though. My dad is a little chunky around the middle and my sister is marrying a guy like that in August and I'm engaged to one. But both our fiances have beards and mustaches and my dad has a mustache but keeps the rest of his face very clean and stubble free.

I think this is true when the Dad is a bad ***, and then has a soft spot for his daughter, who reminds him of her mother back in the day. So she likes him cause he is nice to her.
Then she's going to look for a guy that is like her Dad, even though he's a piece of dirt as far as character and parenting skills go.

Maybe not ones that look like their fathers, but they definitely look for men that have similar attitudes, values and even personality traits as their fathers.
The same applies for men marrying women like their mothers.

Well, I don't know. Haven't been married, but all that I dated like my dad ended up on my Ex list. My fiance is nothing like my dad, but then again, I always was a bit out of the norm....lol :)

I'd say I'd rather marry a man who treats me like my father treats my mother. He's such a wonderful man, & I respect him for it.

I hope that's not true. PLEASE, don't get me wrong, I love my father to death - I really do. However, I would not want to marry a man like him. A little harsh, yes, I know.

haha lol, I have heard that..but that was from my dad...the funny part is, is that the guys Im interested in are most like my dad!!!!! its crazy, and I dont even realize it until someone reminds me that most girls marry guys that r most like their dads...then I realize the guy I like, or am going out with...lol

damn i hope that isn't true!!! my father is an a**hole who deserted my mom when she was pregnant. i would never want to end up with a coward like that.
