I never hear Silent Night or Hark the Herald Angels sing on the radio. Just Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer and Rockin around the Christmas tree.

OK, rapid typing brain fart. Do you get the feeling that many radio stations are trying to avoid carols about Jesus?

Yup, some ppl don't feel it's right to keep mentioning Christ at Christmas. But at least most of the radio stations acknowledge that they are playing Christmas music (not holiday music).

I agree, I have also noticed this while out shopping. Most clerks say Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas..this aggravates me.

As the Christmas season advances, holiday music becomes more and more a part of radio programming (except for the stations which are simply relay stations for pre-programmed sets of pop music); Usually the first few weeks are for holiday standards, with the older carols and hymns moving into the mix as the Christmas holiday itself grows closer. The rationale behind this is that most of the Christmas shopping is done in the weeks preceding the holiday, and the popular holiday songs help folks get in the mood for cheerful spending, while the older carols and hymns are more appropriate for the days closest to Christmas, when folks are at home and spending time together. The other reasons for not playing too many of the older carols and hymns is that after dozens and dozens of repetitions, listeners will start tuning them out before they get to Christmas itself.

No I have not noticed that. Several stations I listened to in the car today had a ton of religious carols. There were at least 4 religious carols for every 1 secular song.

Everywhere I have lived, the all-Christmas stations that are advertised are the Christian stations. But there are plenty of secular stations that play religious carols as well.

Unfortunately CHRISTmas is a celebration of presents and commerce and has lost its true meaning. The world seems to be full of Scrooge's. Everybody wants, but no one GIVES. Greed and Ignorance runs rampant in this day and age. CHRISTmas is about giving, caring and celebrating the true Messiah and prophet of GOD.
It seems the politics of some churches have ruined the true meaning of being a Christian. GOD help us all and allow us to find the light in Jesus Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! or MERRY X-MAS!!
X=Xpistos(Greek)=Christ(English)

yes most likely because there are a lot of different beliefs out there and they fear getting into trouble for it. Some people take offense to things way to easily.
