I have never had any surjery before, but I'm considering a breast reduction. I am 25 years old 5'3 and a (F or DDD) cup. I have cronic back & shoulder pain, & headaches. Does anyone have any stories to share or advise? Also anyone know of a good plastic surgeon in Florida? Thank you!

I had it done Feb 2006 and do not regret it one bit.

I was a 38J and went to a 38C and it was covered 100% by my insurance company.

I have a LONG "surgery story" if you wish to send me your email address.

Also this site below is an excellent source of information, support, and experiences.

You should look in your health directory for your insurance company FIRST and talk to at least THREE plastic surgeons before deciding who to do the surgery.

Also check out http://www.bfar.org

That site talks about breastfeeding after a reduction.

I had a breast reduction when I was 16 and I was living in Florida at the time. I'm 5'0" and I was about your size.

In Florida, medical insurance covers breast reductions due to health issues, but I'd double check with your provider. My plastic surgeon was Sergio Zamora and he's amazing. Look him up.

OMG i feel for you, hon. I'm a 36D, but I wanted to get one. I went to Dr. Vitolo who I'm sorry is based in NY, and didn't talk me out of it per se, but he showed me that there would be A LOT of scarring. There winds up being scars around the nipples, and below the breast, because not only do they take fat out, but then they have to take away some skin, and reshape it. But in your case it seems like such a medical issue that maybe some scarring is worth it.

I don't know a plastic surgeon in Florida, but good luck and God bless!
