According to a recent article in Business Week magazine, care to guess what %% of CEO's have a background in acccounting??? 90%. And the internships are there!

Accounting is sometimes described as dirty work. Sure, engineering designs the sexy products, and sales are off to the corners of the world to sell them. Meanwhile, the poor guy in accounting has to evaluate whether too much or too little of the reserves for warranties and recalls is invested in medium term securities. but someone has to do it, and those who do it well tend to get paid well.

Accounting is like major sin English or Psych. Name a 4 year college that doesn't offer it? You should be ok with almost any college, but it's the grad school which counts.

The institution which has the best instructors who have actually practiced in the field of accounting and who have placed graduates throughout the country is the school to consider. The name doesn't matter as much as where the alumni have landed. The % of graduates who studied and gained their CPA certificates is valuable. A school Like Quinnipiac Univ.is very well known in the practice.
