I don't think the fun nightlife had anything to do with the decision to bomb it...one way or the other...nor did its beauty factor in...it was a Nazi city and had to die...tough....as for why its a beautiful city?...well,the Germans aren't exactly known for being slouches when it comes to architecture and building skill..also its very old and has time to grow and be improved...as for other things about it..thats where the Beatles met their necromancer and transformed from a puny club band to the biggest act in history...some say they sold their souls to the devil there....something transformed them those play dates they had...they went over as something and came back as something else that last time....

It was bombed because it is a port city and therefore, a strategic location. A port city typically has military ships and other equipment and those need to be taken out before they can be used against your side.

I live in hamburg and for me personally is hmburg pretty boring^^'!But maybe I feel this way because I am living here.USA is for me an interesting country or japan^^!But Ia m sorry!I don't know anything about your second question =(!
