Besides happening to divers, it can occur in unpressurized airplanes. Headaches, dizziness, nausea, pain (mild to severe) in the joints, along with a host of other things. Not a fun experience.

It refers to a problem that deep sea divers have if they surface too quickly. Coming to the surface quickly causes a sudden shift of the amount of pressure on the body. As pressure outside the body goes down, it causes air inside the body to expand -- which can cause serious problems for the diver.
