Yes, my Pop's funeral was amazing. My uncles both spoke and made the odd joke at which we all laughed. It wasn't rude or out of line, it was with respect and gave the whole event more of a joyful feeling rather than a sadness. I remember the priest saying in his closing speech that it was the first time he had held a funeral where there was many smiles among the crowd. He thanked us for it all.

Yes. Everyone of them
Usually there would be some stories about the dead person which would get us all laughing.
There is a saying : "You will always hear crying at a wedding and laughing at a funeral"

Many people laugh. Some people deal with sadness by laughing. Mostly, after the funeral and when the family is gathering together and comforting each other. Remember, celebrate ONE's life! Be glad you knew them.

Of course. Much like the other person said, you laugh when a good story is told, when a speaker makes a joke, etc. As long as it is meant to be funny and appropriate to laugh, then it's fine.
Now, when the family is throwing the flowers on the lowered casket or something, that's not funny... Maybe in the movies, but not in real life.

No, however, my younger sister did when she was in preschool. Then, my nieces and nephews were laughing and ran around my late father's casket! It is very difficult for young children, especially with the intense emotion leading up to the funeral.

Not laughed but couldnt help smile. The reason being I was sad that this young guy was dead at 20. So I asked God "why?" He told me. Then he showed me him with his new robe on. How it shined! He said he is waiting for you (3x). So I could'nt help but smile because now I knew why and saw that he was happy. So when I went to the funeral it was hard (for me) to be sad.

It all depends on who died. If laughter was a part of their life then by all means we will remember them as they were. I thankfully have known many wonderful people and we sometimes laughed until we cried. And since it was a funeral we of course cried some more.

It replaced into for the time of the funeral of my pal very nearly a 365 days in the past. of direction i replaced into very much bowled over of looking out that he died at an extremely youthful age of 17. i did no longer comprehend then that he's ill so that's a real shocker. My acquaintances are already there as quickly as I arrived. because of the fact it were a protracted time considering we final seen one yet another after intense college commencement, we dealt with that social amassing as an danger to bond. It feels somewhat awkward to speak with them understanding that his coffin is only metters faraway from us. We did no longer prepare our unhappiness plenty on that social amassing considering all of us comprehend that he would want it that way. And he did no longer want us to be unhappy because of the fact of his loss. His no longer telling us approximately his affliction is his way of no longer making us project. His anniversary would be on the 2d of October.

Sure. Sometimes the tension of the grief needs to be broken. I never laughed about the person's death, however, just irrelevant stuff that somebody said that made several people laugh.
