The Occupation is the problem!...there was never a suicide bombing or such an entity as "al Qeada in Iraq(Mesopatamia)" until after the U.S. Military Invasion and Occupation of Iraq in 2003.
By far the most attacks by insurgents in Iraq are directed at U.S. forces.
Hundreds of thousands dead...hundreds of Billions of U.S. taxes down the bloody drain.

I find it humorous that we always point out the number who have lost their lives in Iraq since 2003 but never compare it to any other war. We also never here how there have been around 3900 US soldiers killed in Iraq since 2003 but in that same time frame we have lost 66,450 people to murder in the US. There have been 375,774 rapes and nearly 17,000 killed in drunk driving accidents and we won't even discuss abortions or suicides. I hate seeing us lose heroic men and women but at the same time freedom comes at a price. Pull out now and we will open the flood gates of terrorism in the US! My brother proudly served 2.5 years in Iraq on 2 different missions and he will tell you today that he would do it again. I would also like to see the number of Iraqis killed by their own kind before and during the war. My guess its not any worse now than before just the media hypes it up.

It isn't okay.
In part I blame the mainstream media. When Bush made his speech implying that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 they didn't say anything even though they knew it was a lie and it is their responsibility to keep the people informed. When we went to war something like 80% of people supported it because they thought Iraq planned 9/11!
When Bush had a White House office change the EPA's report immediately after 9/11 to take out some facts that proved the air was not safe they said nothing (except PBS). Thousands of people now have serious respiratory difficulties because of it, particularly the heroes of the fire department.
I could go on for quite some time (but I'll try not to). Not informing the people about the facts of the war. Not publicizing negative facts (the truth) about our buddies Saudi Arabia. The list could go on and on...
This war is a terrible miscarriage of justice. And yes, it is the administration's fault, but the fault also lies with the media for not informing the public and the public for not insisting on being informed.
I get my news from PBS, the BBC, and Canadian news sources because I know that they will have information that the mainstream media will not provide.
Unfortunately, now that we are in this mess there is no easy way to get out. We've destabilized an entire region with our invasion and pulling out suddenly may destabilize it even further. I know that we shouldn't be there, but getting out may be trickier than it seems.
Sorry about my tangent, but I'm hoping that others will agree. Not just about where we are being bad, but about analyzing how we got where we are and preventing future tragedies.

Why don't all of you who think we don't belong in Iraq or Afghanistan or Iran go and live there after the cowardly liberals pull us out? Then tell me how YOU would like living under a regime that would tie you to a pole and cut your tongue out for speaking about the government like you constantly do on YA.
Eric - Go back to school. We didn't TRY to impeach Clinton, we DID impeach him. And it wasn't for a BJ, it was for perjury. That is lying under oath in a court of law, something I wouldn't expect you to know anything about but something a Lawyer like Slick Willy should have known about before he did it.

Do you believe it would be okay with any clear minded person? Sadly it is our reality. Things are getting better and if continued, a number of our troops will come home,

And here is the messed up part... the republicans tried to impeach Clinton for lying about a BJ... but nobody is trying to impeach Bush for lying about EVERYTHING!
Here's a joke for you:
Q: How can you tell if Bush is lying?
A: His lips are moving.
Ha Ha...

It is a shame that this happens in war, but this war is absolutely neccessary.
Since we invaded Iraq we have taken a brutal dictator out of power and helped establish a democracy in Iraq. The world is now a safer place.
