No, not really. It sounds too much like a nick name.

Only if you want to subject her to being called Smelly Janelly or Jelly Janelly. Neither is preferable though. How about Janelle? It's a much prettier name and you could always nickname her Janelly if you wanted to, but it provides her with the option of using a more mature sounding name should she wish to. Can you honestly imagine a fifty year old woman called Janelly someday?!

Although its not as bad as the ugly made up names like Nevaeh or Shanaynay, I still much prefer Janelle over Janelly.

No. And more so, just so you know, studies have been done that suggest that names that sound "low class" or "low income" are more likely to be rejected be people reading resumes. Example: Two identical resumes are sent to a company. The only difference between them is the names. One has the name Thomas Williams. Pretty standard, right? The other has the name D'Andre Williams. Guess which resume has a better chance of getting picked...

I'm not saying it's right, in fact its disgusting. But it is the unfortunate truth of the world in which we live. Remeber, the name might be "cute", but your child will have to live with that name for the rest of his/her life, unless he/she goes about changing it.
